Young lives changed at Christmas Camp thanks to you

Thanks to many faithful supporters, each year our Brisbane team are able to run a Camp between Christmas and New Year for ‘at-risk’ and single parent teenagers. It offers a safe and fun environment during a time of often increased volatility at home sparked by alcohol fuelled revelry.

Sam and her best friend decided to come on camp because they really had nowhere else to go. For them it was free accommodation and food for the week. Sam’s home life was unstable and she had already dropped out of school. She was drinking, smoking and hanging out with friends that were influencing her to make unhealthy choices.

“It was like Jesus was calling to me…”

Sam had been attending a local youth group on the south side of Brisbane for a little while in the lead up to camp but she didn’t know what to expect from camp. On the second night, during the message Sam recalls, “It was like Jesus was calling to me, like He knew me and He wanted me to know Him”.

Sam chose to receive Jesus and that night her life was changed. That night she chose to walk away from her old pattern of life and to walk with Jesus in the new life He offered her. Sam was baptised on New Year’s day during camp and has begun a journey with the Lord.

New years day baptism at Christmas Camp. Thanks for helping make moments like these possible.

This is just one of the many lives that have been transformed through Christmas Camp and will continue to be involved in our youth guidance programs. Your contribution has changed Sam’s life eternally. Thank you for your continued partnership.
